The Italian-German artist Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli grew up in Lucca and began studying the piano at an early age. Valentina's artistic and personal life was marked by two great shocks: at the age of 11 she discovered the music of Frank Zappa thanks to a song by Deep Purple (smoke on the water) and from there she incessantly trasnscribed the discography of the brilliant American composer, timidly starting to create some proto-transcriptions for piano and other instruments. The second shock came at the age of 20, when she discovered the double bass and fell madly in love with it, leading her to graduate in 4 and a half years and to a career on the rise with the winning of national and international prizes and competitions, collaborating with important institutions such as the BBC SO or the Mahler Academy, and using the piano only to support another integral part of Valentina's musical career: composition.

Valentina also has a good experience as a jazz musician and plays the electric bass. Valentina is a synesthete artist (sounds-colours, numbers-colours) and produces her musical and graphic contents following visual inputs in what she composes.

Grow up in Lucca she began her musical journey with the piano before transitioning to the double bass in late 2009. Graduating with honors from the Istituto Musicale L. Boccherini in Lucca in 2014, she furthered her studies at the Royal College of Music in London, earning her Master of Performance (Honors) in 2016 and Under the guidance of Leon Bosch at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2017. Valentina's musical prowess extends to composition, graduating in March 2014.
